Goodbye my friend
I am posting this with a heavy heart today with the news that my dear friend Victor passed away on Thursday evening, May 28th, 2020 at 93 years old. He turned 93 on May 8th, the 75th year of his liberation from Theresienstadt Concentration camp on his 18th birthday. His daughter Denise wrote, “Victor was passionate about life and about the need for justice for all people.” I will miss him, terribly. In the days ahead I will post some interview material I have not made public on our website. It was my last talk with Victor in Florida before he moved back up to New York because of his dementia. He stayed on Long Island at Gerwyn Home during the dementia days and at Harbor House in Oyster Bay during Alzheimer’s days. There was an online Zoom funeral for Victor held from Florida. I took part.
